Whatever makes you happy...
The holidays are over.
Charlie had his first adult lesson this morning (Monday) and meets his class of children tomorrow. Suzie has a French course starting tomorrow (we hope!) and the search for a flat is still ongoing after the one we thought we were moving into turns out to need more renovation after all. Busy busy busy! The tourists have left the region, the "back to school" adverts are all over the radio, TV and billboards and we no longer get to enjoy our lazy summer rhythm. We feel nostalgic of our last few weeks and occasionally we feel nostalgic of our nice easy settled life in Finland. Thankfully, when we think about it, we still know we made the right decision moving here but it doesn't feel homely yet. Finland did.
But we frequently have reminders of why we moved here and, now the unbearable heat has died down, it does feel wonderful that the September weather forecast looks like this:
